well who else do you guys think would work well in a team of lethal protectors led by venom/eddie brock
 
i think if it took off it would make a hell of a dark comic, maybee even relaunch the midnight sons and go after all kinds of villains; like drug dealers, roxxon, demons and the supernatural, hydra. but maybee that's asking for too much

Venom wouldn't need to create a team. He would easily become the leader of the awesome Power Pack!

Alright alright... I could see Venom leading a team consisting of:
 
Ghost Rider (I've never been a big Vengeance fan)
Deadpool (those two together would give the comic a lighter side)
Morbius (if you're going to have any stories with the undead you have to include Morbius on the team)
Moon Knight (not sure about how him and Venom get along, but I have always been a fan of MK)
Cloak
Dagger
Domino
Mystique
 
Venom (Eddie) has left a bad taste in a lot of characters' mouths. It would be interesting how he would go about recruiting members. I'm thinking the members would just run into one another all at once in a fight... then realize they are fighting on the same side. It would be a stretch, but I could see some creative writer making it work.

the power pack never killed any criminals, so it wouldn't  work. and neither did cloak and dagger

If I were ANY super hero I'd want to work with Venom so I could eventually steal the suit.

What about all the teams that Venom has been a part of?  MC aside, the Thunderbolts come to mind, as do several runs with the Sinister Six.  I think the biggest problem is that Venom isn't a team player.  If I was bigger, faster, stronger and smarter (or at least thought that I was) than why do I need to be part of a team?
 
Aside from that, if we're abandoning comic universe, here's my team's roster, and why they would do "well":
 
Venom - Eddie Brock, leader 
Green Goblin - brains and bombs
Scorpion - Mac Gargan, extra muscle
Rino - extra (extra?) muscle
Lizard - extra muscle and brains
Electro - flight

not much of a team if they can't do a simple thing like finally kill spider-man

He's the ultimate "2 Man Oney"!  He can't "kill" Spider-man because that's his motivation.  Its like the semi-omnipotent being who desires the complete destruction of everything: you can't kill yourself so you can destroy everything, but you want to destroy everything, but you can kill yourself...  Its a vicious circle and you're sad but that's the way things work.
