OK, I haven't said anything about the cover mis-matching at all for the first 10 issues in this series. I realize that in this day and age, the cover doesn't have to match the interior, but seriously - have read the issues that come after this, and this cover is much better, almost perfectly, suited for Issue 13. I get it. Issue 13 is really less about what is depicted here than it is about Hell on Earth, but still.

All this is not to say that this issue doesn't have its fill of "Hell on Earth"... when road tripping with Jack-O, be sure to pack the thickest skin you have available. Even the symbiote may not be enough for what Flash was up against in this issue...

I found it interesting that Jack-O "allowed" Flash to take a detour and attempt a rescue mission in Elko. Granted, the sadistic Halloween nightmare of man did have fun on their excursion, but it certainly was more than Flash bargained for. It also felt out of place that Flash would put himself in such a public situation, knowing he had many an eye out for him. I guess, like the cover portrays, it is his self-destructive personality that has kicked in at this point in the series.

The transition out west has left a couple other plot points hanging: the Anti-Venom introduction at the beginning of this book, the danger of "symbiote bonding" and Betty. All problems that apparently stay in New York.

At the end of this issue, you will feel weird. Period. I know I still do. But that is what you get when you jump into the deep end of the psycho pool that is Jack O'Lantern's true character...

Venom continues toward Vegas and gets some unlikely help...The GoodI'm loving this new direction for Venom. He's on the run. He's wanted. He really has no one to turn to.Medina is really impressing me with the art. He sets the mood very well and is actually, in my opinion, the first good replacement for Moore. (besides Caselli who only did one issue)This story arc is going pretty good so far. Personally I didn't like the last arc as much until the end, so it's nice this one is starting off right...

Going out with a bang are we? Well yeah! We have Steve Rogers hunting down Venom, however instead of Captain America doing the hunting, he sends The Red Hulk! Yes! I was really playful with this book. I enjoyed this very much. We get the origin of Jack O’ Lantern and it’s just the most amazing story he has to tell. My respect for Jack O’ Lantern as a villain has sky rocketed to the roof. And man, he is not just some silly pumpkin man on a board. No! He is seriously nuts in a nut shell. And Flash...
