    A New Venom & A New #1 6

We've seen Flash Thompson as Venom in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man and now the government-controlled Venom gets his own series.  The Good This is far from your regular Venom series. This isn't the Venom we all know. Like many, I still consider Eddie Brock to be the true Venom but I'm am going to enjoy the heck out of this while it lasts. Flash Thompson is showing us what a good soldier he is and the missions he goes on won't be a simple walk in the park. While we saw his first real mission in...

WEE KNOW HOW TOOO MAKE A CLASSIC! 0

The Down and Dirty There is a new hero kickin ass the good ol' American Classic Way!   The Awesomeness What a great start to a new series, let me just start out!  I don't want to spoil much, but I'll try my best to summarize without giving anything out juicy.  It starts out in some Eastern Europe country where terrorist are commiting genocide on it's inhabitants.  Some mysterious figure has hired Jack O' Lantern to capture an arms dealer dealing out weapons of mass destruction.  At the same time...

    Classified! 3

Overall:    As I state in the video, there's so many great things that I could say about this issue.  Remender continues to amaze me with great storytelling.  I highly recommend this issue to anyone interested in something new, different with a nostalgic feel since it's Venom, after all.  5/5...

    So far so good. 0

Upon purchasing this book and reading the first few pages, the only thought I had was that if this story wasn't a Venom story and it was just some random soldier tale, I would have skipped it entirely without a second thought. I couldn't help but think that the only thing drawing me in was the symbiote aspect of the story.   That feeling quickly left me as the pages kept turning. Rick remender writes a believable Flash who convincingly plays his role in the story. My doubts about the new appeara...

    Rebirth Under Fire! 6

If you are a fan of Venom, and you have been waiting for Venom to get his own title, then you need to buy this book, but first you MUST get Amazing Spider-Man 654.1. 'nuff said.OverviewPost Siege Story arc, the US Government now controls the alien Venom symbiote. Not wanting to waste an excellent weapon, the Venom suit is now a tool of military black ops. The current man inside the suit is Eugene "Flash" Tompson, long time friend and rival of Peter Parker. The StoryThe first issue hits the...

    Venom Returns 0

Cover I usually hate white background covers but I think it really works well with the black of the venom. I have to say I liked this cover. Story Flash Thompson is on a mission as the Venom and he has to control his anger or else he will lose control of the Venom and when he loses control the government has a grenade that they can make explode. Flash comes home to see Betty and Betty accuses Flash of Drinking. Flash has a choice to go to an AA meeting but he wheels right past it. Best Part If...

    The fine line 0

To me this comic did a great job introducting a character developing in his own mark in Marvel and a good chose of a character to be in the suit.  I pick this up because of the art by Tony Moore (artist for the The Walking Dead Series) who had done a pretty cool job in drawing the venom suit and the action that took place in this comic.  Pros: It's a good start. It created the stress that the man in suit as he fights the Venom from taken control and his belief of becoming the hero that he wants ...

A Healthy Dose of Venom? (Spoilers Inside) 3

First off, the cover is good. While he doesn't match his appearance in the book, it does give you one chilling clue as to who is wearing the suit, which is what gave it away for me. Next issue we get a more accurate depiction of ol' Venom.  For me, this book was a bit all over the place for my taste. In some ways, it reminded me of back in the '90s when Venom was a government operative/weapon for a brief stint; back when Larry Hama was at the helm I believe. I almost get the feeling this has bee...

    Okay, I admit..... 0

I'm a little late to the game on this one. I sat on the fence for a long time thinking whether or not to bother with the new Venom series. I had grown so accustomed to Mac Gargan in the suit, it was gonna be hard for me to accept anybody else. Well, I was wrong. Flash works in the suit. The book hooks you in right away with Jack O'Lantern(one of my favorite corny Marvel villains) just laying waste to an Eastern European town in search of a doctor who weaponized vibranium. Fun stuff. Then they dr...

Didn't do much for me 1

"Flash" Thompson is back in the brand new series Venom.   The Story  Flash Thompson is back as a Venom. The beginning gives you a nice introduction of who "Flash" is as a person and lets you kinda gauge how he is going to act when under the influence of Venom (if you don't already know). Jack'O Lantern is terrorizing a city and melting through UN bots designed by Stark Industries with this newly found technology which is some sort of Antarctic Vibranium that can melt through any metal. He is cl...

    VENOM IS A HOSS 0

What do you get when you cross James Bond, Sylvester Stallone, and a fucking insane alien suit?  What you get is a Rick Grimes looking beast of a man who kicks ass 24/7 and nails Betty Brant on the side, WITH NO LEGS.  Best interpretation I've seen in long time.  Non of that "must protect the INNOCENTS" stuff, just all out beat the crap out of every villain who ever existed and then taking a dump on their grave.  This makes Mac Gargan look like a little girl, but that's honestly not hard to do. ...

    Big Shoes To Fill 0

Recommended!Pretty great start to a new stand-alone series for the unexpected hero, Venom. My only background on this title was from the Point One issue collected as part of the Amazing Spider-Man: Matters of Life and Death TPB. I have to say, after reading that trade, I wondered why I didn't read ASM. Either way, the story carried over nicely from that trade, and gave me enough information to start reading this great new series. It was a lot more "gritty" than I expected. I guess I always though...

    WE ARE VENOM!!! 0

This was a solid first issue that sets-up the new Venom title. Corporal Eugene 'Flash' Thompson and the symbiote are brought together by the Army in a effort to have some kind of new Supersoldier (yup, they never get tired of that). The story is pretty straight-forward, Venom has to save some good Eastern European folk from an attack by the Jack O' Lantern. The villain is looking up a mad scientist in order to use his weapons. Flash has to make a quick decision and his superiors are not happy wi...
