Velocidad
Character » Velocidad appears in 285 issues.
Gabriel is one of the "Five Lights", the five new mutants that have emerged since the Decimation, and is also the second to be activated by Hope. He is currently enrolled at the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.
Lame power
At least if YOU'RE going to insult him, you could use the correct form of YOUR.
@jordama:
I have to agree, that as one of the oh-so-coveted and highly anticipated Five Lights mutants, his powers should seem a little more.....impressive?
But speedsters ususally have an out in the "powers you've seen a hundred time" category: versatility.
Characters like Flash and Quicksilver have made a great career out of using their speed in interesting and unique ways.
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what becomes of him.
So....when Hope touched him, did he gain control of his power or are we going to watch him die as every time he uses his power he experiences a month to a minute of time?
Marvel doesn't have many speedsters. I'll agree it's not an original power, but it's not exactly an over-used power... it's rarer than the multitude of reality warpers & the plethora of telepaths.
So, now he's proved to be a time-manipulator
Tiem Manipulation is more interesting than super speed... but it means that he'll physically age faster than everyone around him.
He's more original than some of the other lights, like Idie (someone who can control fire and ice... I know there are others. But I just can;t think) And the other one with like the feral personality or whatever?

Idie: Crux and even Tempest (Angel Salvidor)
And the Feral one is Teon

@jordama: I wouldn't say he was just another speedster, his power is more akin to Zoom in that he is not just fast he affects the time stream around him to make it look like he is going fast
Sorry, My comments were from when he was originally introduced. before they gave the twist of time manipulation.
Funny how he's gone from a potentially lame character to one of your favourites ;) But I guess his power is 'lame' to him, anyway... aging rapidly has got to be a real downer.
@ComicMan24: Sorry, I don't know the exact details. I gave up on Gen Hope too. I'm sure Jordama will keep you up-to-date though :)
He'd be a lot more powerful if he learned how to control his time-space powers. As is, he makes the entire area around his immediate person faster than normal time- which is why he couldn't run on water like other speedsters. The water was just as fast as he was, so he couldn't move across it before breaking the surface tension. If he could learn how to form his time powers into a multi-layered covering, he could accelerate his personal time-surroundings, regulate his body's age, and not affecting the time of his footing. I assume that other time-manipulating speedsters (Hunter Zolomon/"Zoom") manage these concepts subconsciously, which is how they can use the full range of speedster powers, and more.
