I'm trying to figure out how Veil can be of much use in combat? Her power seems overly defensive and in no way offensive. So far in combat it seems like she just literally vanishes until the fight ends. Any ideas? My only idea was in a similar way to Cloud 9 using her gas to choke someone.

I guess she could sneak up behind people or something. Isn't she pretty much like Shadowcat?

Well Shadowcat had combat skills and could go intangible. Veil is untrained and can not move through solid object because she still has mass. So no they are not the same.

She can transform into different types of gases so she could transform into a sleeping gas or something like that.

I thought that, but the power to be inhaled is a bit weak... However, knowing what kind of story-telling to expect, then I imagine it wont be long before we see her becoming more offensive. "
