Vampirella
Vampirella is a comic book character that first appeared in Vampirella #1Considered a Vampire cause she needs blood to survive, she has all their powers but none of their weakness. She can't turn people into vampires. She was sent to Earth to kill all evil vampires.
Vampirella was born from a race called Vampiri. They lived on a planet named Drakulon. That planet orbited around 2 suns, when one of them erupted it destroyed most of the Vampiri that lived there. When astronauts crashed landed on their planet, Vampirella was sent to investigate it. She discovered the astronauts and they started attacking her. In self-defense she discovered that they had blood inside their bodies. She would take the ship and pilot it back to Earth. Vampirella decides that she would be a "good vampire".
Her adventures lead her to befriend vampire hunters, Adam Van Helsing and his blind-psychic father, Conrad Van Helsing and an old magician named Mordecai Pendragon, who took in Vampirella as his assistant. Most of these adventures involved her assisting the Van Helsing's against followers of Chaos who dabbled with dark magic. A recurring theme in the stories was her uncontrollable blood lust, which with a help of a serum made her overcome her thirst however due to unfortunate circumstances would make her more dangerous and feral around Adam and her friends if she wasn't nourished with the serum or blood.
She would later find out that she was the daughter of Lilith, the first wife of Adam from the Book of Genesis. Her mother was cast out of the garden and then mated with a demon and gave birth to Vampires. She lived on Drakulon which was a part of hell. She would seek redemption from God and results in her giving birth to Vampirella. Her mother then sends her down to Earth to kill all evil vampires.
Origin
Vampirella’s origins were changed drastically after being bought by Harris Publishing. During the Morning in America series, Vampirella is revealed to have been "missing" for ten something years. Nathan Shroud, who served under the Cult of Chaos, had somehow altered her memories and she ended up working as a teacher under the name Ella Normandy, unaware of her true identity or her past.
Vampirella eventually begins to suspect things were not quite what it seemed when she was given a glimpse into her future and past by the demon Nuberus, who tempted her with her true origin in order to gain access to Earth. In the vision she witnesses a silhouette of a woman, but couldn’t seem to make out who she really was. Later the woman was depicted to be Lilith. It appeared to Vampirella that all her memories about Planet Drakulon were in fact false, placed into her mind by her evil brother and sister - Madek and Magdalene.
In reality, Vampirella is the daughter of Lilith, the first wife of Adam. Lilith was created by God himself and then cast out of Eden for failing to submit to the will of Adam. After she was cast out of , Lilith mated with demons and gave birth to thousands of demons of her own out of spite against God. Lilith eventually realizes what she done was wrong so she bore, Madek and Magdalene, in hopes that they would give her the redemption she seeks, but they abused their power and decided to follow the path of evil. Vampirella was born as a “last resort” to ensure redemption for her mother by killing all demons and vampires including Madek and Magdalene to make up for Lilith’s sins.
On finding her brother and sister Vampirella attacked them, but they proved to be too powerful for her. Rather than kill her they stripped her of all her memories and planted her with false memories of “Planet Drakulon” so that she would leave them alone to continue their quest for evil. After regaining her memory, Vampirella initially defeats them both ultimately completing Lilith’s task.
Death and Return
Vampirella's life would come to a grim end at the hands of Mistress Nyx, a demon hell bent on destroying the world, and also responsible for killing Vampirella’s lover, Adam Van Helsing. After her death, Vampirella awakes to find herself in Hell for the first time, but it was a part of Hell known as Drakulon and this was the true place of her birth. Vampirella discovers her mission was now to provide redemption for her mother by destroying all vampire races on Earth. This she must ensure because Lilith's time in Hell was coming to an end, and so she confided in her daughter, Vampirella to atone for her sins. Just as Vampirella was being transported back to earth she witnessed Lilith being killed by God’s hand.
Vampirella realizes that her entire life was based around lies and deceptions. However, for the first time in her life she finds herself now with a new purpose: A quest for vengeance against anyone who do on to others what was done to her.
Powers
Vampirella has a healing factor which enables her to recover from wounds in superhuman speed. However if she suffers too much blood loss her regeneration rate slows down. She needs to feed before recovering properly. She is effectively unaging and immortal. However a stake through the heart is fatal to her. When bled dry her body enters a death-like state. She can be "resurrected" when offered blood from Drakulon. She is immune to silver and sunlight.
Her fangs can extend and rip a throat open. They are sharp enough to sever bone. Her talons are similarly sharp and durable. She can mesmerize her victims but must be in close proximity and looking into their eyes to do so. She can summon bats to act as a shield for her or have them attack an opponent. They are not more durable than other normal bats and can be killed by her opponents.
Vampirella can summon shadows or transform to a "misty shadow" herself. In this form she is unable to physically attack her opponents. She can however draw an energy blast from the shadows ("shadowbolt") which causes some damage.
She has minor shape-shifting powers, adding wings to her humanoid form or transforming into a bat. She uses these transformations to fly. In light of her shape-shifting abilities, her costume has materialized into a "blood" like form which covers certain areas of her body from being exposed.
