Valentina Vostok is a comic book character that first appeared in Showcase #94
Valentina was a member of the second Doom Patrol team and worked for the original incarnation of Checkmate. She now serves as Checkmates White Queen.

Negative Woman
and the original Doom Patrol had sacrificed themselves to save the inhabitants from General Zahl and Madame Rouge.
Vostok found her body glowing with cosmic energy and discovered that her body had been possessed by the negative energy creature that had once possessed Larry Trainor the Negative Man. Vostok than became the Negative Woman and found that she also had to be bound in special bandages to contain the radiation to survive.
She was later recruited to join the second incarnation of the Doom Patrol and went on many uncanny adventures with them even having a brief romantic affair with Tempest. After a fight with the villain Reactron, Vostok found her negative counterpart stolen from her body which returned to Trainor who was not dead as once thought.
Valentina would eventually leave the Doom Patrol on good terms and work for the American secret services and other organizations. Vostok became the temporary head of the Agency and worked for the original Checkmate agency.
White Queen
Powers
As the Negative Woman, Vostok could release an extremely powerful creature made of negative-engergy possessing super strength, run near light speed, flight, phasing abilities and the ability to make objects burn or explode with a single touch. All of this could be done within 60 seconds before needing to return to Valentina's body or she would slip into a coma and die. She no longer possesses these abilities.
