Yeah, that visor looks dumb. 0

I don't side with Cyclops on the "Cyclops versus Everything" debate. There I said it. Don't I have balls? And let's face it, I don't believe a single writer working for Marvel (except maybe Kieron Gillen) actually sides with Cyclops either. Certainly reading AvX (largely penned by BMB, who also does this book) it's pretty clear to me that the X-men were villains in that event. So honestly, I didn't come into this book with much faith.Thankfully, Brian Micheal Bendis and Chris Bachalo just knock i...

Uncanny Silence of the Lambs 0

This issue did not blow me away, however it does have my attention. We get another new volume of Uncanny X-Men, which I believe is the third one of the entire series run. I didn't think the last volume was that bad, it wasn't as good as Wolverine and the X-Men. But while that book slowly dies a painful death of mediocrity, we are at least getting something different here. The team is very similar to the team in the last volume. Cyclops is leading, we have Magneto, Magik, Emma Frost, and two new mu...

Uncanny Review ( Spoiler) 0

As I have said before, I am really not a fan of the current status quo of the x-men, even though I have been enjoying All-New X-men as of late. I am just not interested in reading Scott as this super-aggressive freedom fighter who throws up gang signs and does not hesitate to blow up police stations. I am not interested in reading a Wolverine that has become the new Professor X and has a grudge against Scott even though before Schism he supported said that he would follow Scott to the gates of h...

Surprisingly Familiar 0

Uncanny X-men #1 proves to be a great start for a promising title. In my experience of reading Bendis' past titles I have thoroughly enjoyed his various work on X-characters in the Ultimate universe and in the House of M event. I believed he had a good grasp of what made most of the characters tick, and clearly EVERYONE seems to be enjoying his first seven issues of All-New X-men. My original fear of this Uncanny X-men title was that Bendis would make this a side/companion title to All-New sort o...

Cyclops and the X-Men 0

I'm not saying I agree with him, but I can honestly say that this is the first time I've ever thought Cyclops was truly cool. Magneto's new costume is a little much, but Cyclops' new look perfectly represents his expanded unstable powers and his new m.o. as the face of the Mutant Revolution. And not just his X-Visor, but his entire attitude, everything about him. His surprisingly gentle tone to mutants combined with his intimidating mannerisms in motivation and battle create a very unpredictable...

Great start, still expected more. 0

The issue had so much explaining that took up a lot of time. Fight scene was cool, but now Magneto is against Scott, after bowing to him in Uncanny volume 2? Really??? Wow. The new mutants look awesome. The art is cool but I feel like it needs a darker tone to fit the theme of the "Mutant Revolution". Also Magneto shouldn't be so buff, Emma shouldn't look so young...But the art is still good nonetheless. With a couple rough edges, Bendis delivers a promising beginning....

Character-Driven.. 0

I really have a strong belief that characters should drive the story not the other way around. I think this issue represents that in two ways. Several of the characters act totally out of context to how they have been portrayed in the past, Emma and Magik are nothing like their characters normally act, their speech feels like someone else and just used to bring the story along and accentuate the plot points. Then you have the big reveal, now this is very much character driven. I can totally see t...

Uncanny X-Men #1 0

Scott Summers has become more than a man, more than a mutant, more than even an X-Man: he has become a cultural icon. Though the official opinion of the world is that Cyclops is a terrorist and a murderer, possibly the most dangerous person to ever walk the Earth, the chat in the cubicles and on the construction sites is that he is a hero. His face is like that of Che Guevara, plastered on the shirts of many, and on the hearts of many more. Some may say that Summers ended Xavier's dream when he ...

View scans here! The GoodNew Costumes- Bachalo is the man best suited to illustrate the Uncanny X-men’s new digs. Cyclops all red suite is sleek and sexy, Magneto’s almost pope like white costume is a radical departure from his purple and red ensemble, let’s not even mention Emma Frost’s all Black sexy back and Magik’s Britney spears inspired midrift + spikes. These all look great!Cover-The standard cover has Cyclops in the foreground decked out in red while his team in black and white flank hi...

Children of the Revolution 0

I originally wasn't going to get this series, hence the reason I'm reviewing it so late. I did however decide to get it as it had decent reviews, but the main reason was the upcoming Battle of the Atom crossover which features this.PlotWhen a mysterious man turns up at an unknown S.H.I.E.L.D. location, asking for Maria Hill, he gets his wish, and is here to talk about Cyclops, and his mutant revolution.ReviewThis was a great issue, and a brilliant start for the series, but it just felt a bit lac...

Enjoyed the writing, despised the artwork. 0

Director of SHIELD, Maria Hill, receives an unexpected visit from someone very dangerous; so dangerous enough to scare her into not even really wanting to bother with him one on one despite being in a cell that is surrounded by agents and various weapons. The mystery man explains to her that Cyclops, leader of the X-Men, is a monster whom is becoming too powerful and must be stopped. -summaryUncanny X-Men #1 is among the new series to spawn from Avengers Vs. A Great First Impression 0

Every since I found myself disappointed with Wolverine and the X-Men, as well as recently found the All-New X-Men to be a bit slow for my taste, I've been holding my breath to see what to make of this. And, man, I wasn't disappointed. The story starts out strong, taking place in an interrogation room with SHIELD, in which we delve into the information provided by individual who has come to SHIELD, as teased previously. The narrative does a nice job of unfolding this character, then jumping into ...
