High Praise
Gonna keep this review short and sweet, un-like some of other reviews!
The Good
This issue had a sort of calm, static, atmosphere. In my head, everything was completely silent. If it was a tv show episode, I can imagine that there would be no music or score accompanying it. Very Whedon-esque. It was also such a quick read, I had to read it twice straight away so I could fully absorb it, not that that's a bad thing, any longer and the pacing would of been well off. The art is also fantastic. You've never seen Billy Tan like this, it's a great new direction which not only has it's own style, but also fits perfectly into the style of the art of the other issues. Dean White's colour's are actually spectacular. Colourists are so often underrated or never even considered, but you gotta give credit where it's due.Not to mention the excellent story which highlights some tragic realities for a Wolverine, making him face the inevitabilities of his life. This issue wasn't a super-hero book, dealing with fantastical issues and problems, but rather a more human one, highlighting the differences between right and wrong and the blurred line in-between.
The Bad
While the issue was amazing, I did have one or two nags. Mainly to do with the teams reaction to Magneto knowing. I feel like it wasn't made enough of an issue that he knew and it wasn't stressed enough how he found out or ensured that he wouldn't tell anyone. Also, Magneto saying 'Please...do this for me' to Wolverine of all people seemed a little out of character, though I do realize that Remender was trying to show a deeper connection between the two, I feel that the look he gave would of been enough to convey this, and may of been more powerful
Veridct
