The Fantomex Love Pentagram explodes!
With the truth about their sordid past fully revealed, can Fantomex, Psylocke, and Cluster look each other in the eye?
Every psychic ninja needs a vicious animal with no impulse control and a short temper to back her up...right?
Puck! Man, does that guy love jerky. Especially buffalo and bison jerky, dipped in Canadian whiskey.
Plus: a terrifying surprise villain from the X-past is definitely playing chess, not checkers, across Los Angeles.
Paris, then: Fantomex approaches a hotel suite door with champagne. He asks if the girls are okay and they tell him to leave the champagne by the door.
Inside the room, Psylocke and Cluster finish off yet another bottle as they lounge in bed together. Psylocke is perfectly content, but Cluster wonders if they are being cruel to Fantomex. Psylocke doesn't care; she hates him for being right about her love of thieving.
Madripoor, now: Psylocke and Cluster are locked away in a cell somewhere in some facility. Cluster tries forcing the door. She merely manages to hurt her shoulder. Psylocke finds a belt on a dead guy and tries to pick the lock with the buckle. She fails. Cluster begs Psylocke to kill Weapon XIII if she gets the chance. Psylocke should be with Cluster and Fantomex and Weapon XIII will only disrupt their love.
Paris, then: Psylocke decides a fine gift for Cluster is the King Champagne in the Louvre. She sneaks in and alters the mind of a security guard. She nabs a fur coat and the bottle but is immediately discovered by guards with Fantomex masks. She realizes that she can't alter their memories and decides to fight them. A security measure is enacted, however, and a freezing gas invades the vicinity. She and a guard are frozen, but her fur coat took most of the damage. She breaks it off and attempts to help the nearby guard, but he shatters at her touch. She is appalled at killing the man.
Madripoor, now: Weapon XIII has come for Psylocke. He sits with her for a meal and she is not impressed at the meager pirate cell surroundings. On cue, Weapon XIII engages in unseen misdirection. The two are on a magic carpet; he is dressed as a gentleman and she is regally dressed in a purple gown. They fly to exotic places while Weapon XIII explains that when the Fantomexes were combined the nanites in their blood inhibited the power of misdirection. Now that they are separate, the nanites went to Fantomex and Weapon XIII, the lone possessor of the power of misdirection, has nearly unbridled ability. He also explains why the other two don't care for her as she wishes, unlike himself. In sum, he wants her because he recognizes his need for her isn't selfish. He wants her to be herself because she can truly fill the hole in his heart.
Paris, then: Psylocke has effectively escaped the Louvre. She climbs the steps to the hotel and she sees Fantomex making out with Cluster. She is shocked. Fantomex catches her eye and simply puts a finger to his lips before leading Cluster away from the window. Psylocke realizes that she was set up at the Louvre and it must have been Fantomex.
Madripoor, now: Weapon XIII dances with Psylocke. She is thoroughly enjoying herself. She has the belt buckle and makes like she will stab Weapon XIII in the neck with it, but she changes her mind and decides that she will start a life with him -- right after she kills Fantomex.
