Dangerous Things Shouldn't Be Locked Away...

What color is the title going to be this week? Oh, awesome, it's orange. Seriously, though, I love that fact about these covers, they change the color of the title quite a bit to fit the mood of the issue. The rest of this cover, unfortunately, does not impress me, though it is applicable.
The Good:
The sense that these characters are in real danger is a very big bonus. The dialect is poignant and very potent, it holds true and carries the storyline very smoothly. Even Deadpool's jokes are welcome here, because even in a recon mission, he will do what it takes to lighten the mood. The art by Mr. Tan is outstanding; I was so worried when I saw a new name under Remender, since I'm unfamiliar with Tan's work, that it would really hurt the issue, but it has done wonders in this case. It is extremely realistic, gritty and dark and definitely fits the tone that the series has had all along. I'm very fond of the way that Psylocke is drawn in this too.
The Bad:
My slight complaint goes to the pacing. I was able to follow the story, but I had to reread it a few times to ensure that I hadn't missed anything. That's not too much of a bad thing, but compared to other issues, it just seemed that it was a bit much to take all at once. The story is not bad, by any means, far from it, I just felt a little confused for the first time since I've been reading UXF.
Overall:
I think that by this point I may be repeating myself with all the constant praise about this series. It is one of those things, though, that if a group of creators are making excellent comics month in and month out, they should get constant praise to let them know that what they are doing so far is working greatly. To be eight issues into an ongoing and not have lost the fast pace that was established in early chapters is a commendable feat. May this series reach 100!
