    Apocalypse NOW!

    The Good:

Rick Remender takes a large cast of Avengers and former X-Men and unites them as the Avengers Unification Squad. I was a bit apprehensive at making such a wide variety of characters work but he really achieves that and more. There is obviously tension due to the massive philosophical differences involved but it is very well done.

RR also does a fantastic job of making the villains extremely formidable and also making the reader sympathetic to their plight and inspirations. He also brings back several characters from the dead to plague everyone's favorite Unification Squad. These were great to see and their motivations and involvement was also well founded in Marvel history.

The art by Daniel Acuna is amazing to see. His almost hand painted style is absolutely gorgeous and really backs up the terrific storyline here. As i read this I found myself reminded of Warren Ellis' Authority and that is definitely a good thing.

    The Bad:

    Nada.

    Overall:

I am going the full monty for this one. This book is simply awesome.
