Red Skull is a Professional Neurosurgeon

    The story critique:

The story was a great reflection on Avengers vs. X-men. The x-men admit they have failed to accomplish professor x's dream of peace between humans and mutants. On the other side, the avengers admit that they too have failed since they didn't help out the mutants that much. To make a resolution captain America proposes a new team, but this team has a twist. It will consist avengers and x-men, and the leader of this team is Alex Summers even though he doesn't want to now. It was a great choice for Alex to lead the team because he doesn't much time in any team at all because he wants to live a normal life. It is also interesting to see how different he and cyclops are. For example Alex wants to stay away from the x-men and Scoot is always with the x-men since he's the leader. Also, Alex doesn't have any anger management issues like Scott even though Alex has been exploited by so many people, so many times.

This new team to promote human/mutant peace is definitely a big step for marvel, but there is someone in the marvel universe who doesn't like it : the red skull. He does lobotomy on avalanche to brainwash him into attacking a city to increase the hatred for mutants among humans. He then also does lobotomy on another person-whose name I will not mention- to take his brain to destroy all mutants. It was good choice for Red skull to want to kill all mutants due to his strong prejudice for different beings, but the question I still don't get is why use avalanche?

Now to the bad. This issue didn't quite explain how everybody's going to get together in the team. The only people on the team now is havok, Thor, and captain america, but i'm sure they will add people later in issue 2. Also there's a new villan called the goat-faced girl. Really??

overall: It's a good move from marvel 4.5/5

First issue of the new series coming out of Avengers Vs. X-Men, and is the first issue to be released from the Marvel NOW! concept. I was really looking forward to this series as it made AvX feel more meaningful, and the idea of an Avengers team consisting of both Avengers, and X-Men, especially with everything that went down in AvX, I was very intrigued.PlotThis issue sees Wolverine remembering Professor X and talking at his funeral. Meanwhile Havok (Alex Summers) goes to visit his brother Cycl...

Recommendation: “Yeah, you are not gonna want to miss the foundation started here.”First off. How many variant covers do we need? Seriously.AND, a 1:300? Come on. AND a variant of a variant only eligible if your story throws a party? I get the Deadpool thing, but, “Call Me, Maybe?” - NOOOOOO!This is quite some initiation we have going on here. All for a book that didn’t blow me away. Sure. I gave it a 4.0 / 5.0 - seems to be the average for this book based on other ratings, but still, I was EXPE...
