Um, well, Uh.... What can I say? How about this: "Robert Kirkman is willing to do ANYTHING in his books." Sound good?

Invincible is back home! After being away in his counterpart's dimension for 6 months, things aren't going well with his first day back! However, you should know that when Robert Kirkman creates a series, you know things will only go well for so briefly! Written by Robert Kirkman, with artwork by Ryan Ottley, inks by Cliff Rathburn, and colors by John Rauch.

    The Good

Your face, after reading this issue!
Your face, after reading this issue!

This issue is BEST experience firsthand, so I'm going to be very careful to not spoil anything. In this issue, Mark Grayson (Invincible) comes home after being away for 6 straight months after He was stranded on a parallel Earth by his ex-best friend/teammate, Rex. This would be alright if he didn't have anyone of importance waiting back at home for him, worried, however this is not the case this time. Instead, Atom Eve (his pregnant girlfriend) is six months pregnant and super pissed at him.

In my mind, this is one of Robert Kirkman's best issue. The "WHAAAAAT THE....." feeling was definitely created in this issue and really begs the question as to, "what will happen next for Invincible?" While that is my major question right now, and will be for a very, very, very long time, I want to touch on Invincible and Atom Eve's relationship.

As you can see, Eve is almost ready to have that baby.

Robert Kirkman threw a wrench, hammer, crowbar, screwdriver, and every other tool into Invincible's toolbox and threw out his heart with this one issue. Invincible went to the parallel dimension to kill Angstorm Levy because he believed he'd comeback and hurt Eve and kill his unborn child, but that fear really came back and bit him on the butt! It really goes to show how incredible of a writer Kirkman is and how he'll make the story seem to be going UP for the hero, then eventually pull the rug out from under the character as well as the readers! BELIEVE ME!

    .......................uh, wow......Kirkman rug pulling.....wow!

The artwork is just fantastic! Ryan Ottley, Cliff Rathburn, and John Rauch do an outstanding job each and every issue. There artwork skills are legendary and are some of the BEST in the business.

    The Bad

No complaints, really unexpected, but still can't complain with Kirkman's results.

    The Verdict

Robert Kirkman is daring, that is the truth! He'll do anything to shake up his readers and create some of the best stories that have ever lived in the pages of comic books. This issue is proof of that! I recommend checking out this series and supporting what Robert Kirkman and company are doing, it's crazy good and crazy messed up! Overall 5 out of 5.(next one).
