We haven't seen these "Who's Next?" ads for a while.  This could explain why Ultimate Spider-Man is coming to an end (and then getting re-launched with a new Web-head?).

I really stopped caring when Jeph Loeb took over the Ultimates for the third volume. EEK.

I had heard around they were killing him off.  It's dumb.  Not only is it the best Ultimatum book, but it's been the best Spidey book for years.  Sure, One More Day did a lot to revitalize the continuity Spidey, but Ultimate Spidey is just a good read month after month.  The rest of the Ultimatum verse can go, but them killing off Spidey is baffling.  I'm guessing the new web head would be the strange female clone of Peter?  Yeah, you know, because we all absolutely loved the Scarlet Spider.

There's pretty much no reason to read it once all the characters are dead. They aren't dying in cool or dramatic ways either they're just dying for the sake of it and by the truckload. *waves bye to Ultimate Universe*"

I'm going to be pretty bummed if they kill Pete. I've always been a huge spidey fan but being able to follow USM from the beginning it'll kind of suck to watch him get killed off. If he takes over a new identity or someone else's (Daredevil?) fine, but I'd really rather not see him get killed off. Either way I'll still read the reboot.

Why would they put someone else under the mask?  It doesn't make any sense.  He's not a symbol like Captain America that can be easily replaced by someone else.  Spider-man has always been Peter Parker. And Ben Riley doesn't count, because they've already tried the clone saga in the Ultimate universe. Argh, I'm pissed. Who here wants to join me in boycotting the new series if it's not Pete?

I'm really starting to think Loeb has gone utterly bonkers. First he writes all this Hulk crap in 616. Then he goes on over to the Ultimate Universe and starts murdering everyone. Including Peter Parker.

You don't kill off Peter Parker. He's Spider-Man. He's Marvel's icon. Alternate Universe or not, he still sells books.

And last time I checked, the Ultimate Universe only had like, three books. And one of those three books was Spider-Man. Why the hell would you kill off the title character in one of the three books the Ult. U actually has?

I'm kinda glad I never got into the Ultimate Universe considering Jeph's gone on a killing spree. Well, I spose this is better than him going on an ACTUAL killing spree...

I kinda doubt that they will kill off spidey, but if they do then that would be a huge shocker for me especially since Ultimate Spider-man is one of my favorite books out there

Marvel needs to stop giving away all the twists. I already know people are going to die in Ultimatum. In fact, if the are on the variant cover, they seem to die. But I don't even need to buy the issues anymore, I'll just see the press releases and find out all the story a month before.

i think kitty pryde could take up the new spider-girl position. she already has the webs in the alternate future, if that is her. plus she is close to peter. i don't really like the ultimatum storyline. it seems like to radical of a change. i think they should make a reboot x-men series with all new mutants. i dunno. i am caring less and less, and i collected all the ultimate x-men graphic novels. oh well. moving on. =/

Personally I could care less about the Ultimate Universe but if they really want to kill someone, how about Aunt May, and not just in the Ultimate Universe, lets kill her in every Universe. She serves absolutely no purpose and by now she must be like 200! And don't even get me started on that Brand New Day! Come on! "You know my Aunt is like 112 but I would much rather have her around to live for like 1000 more years than to have my wife who I love. What a joke!
