Brain Vaughan is back with another well written story arc wrapped around a mystery story. This time illustrated by Stuart Immonen, which is beautiful to the eyes.
The X-Men stumble upon a reality set in Krakoa, an island east of Africa, which revolves around hunting for mutant criminals. This causes them face the moral debate of if they, as mutant world police, really have the right to shut down the show, being that it's completely legal in Krakoa. The mutant criminal is question is the update of Longshot, who is the longest contestant on the show, who the X-Men believe is innocent of his crimes. As the "senior class" begins piecing together the answers to the mystery when they go the country, they soon realizes that Longshot is guilty of killing the leader of Krakoa. Unluckily, the younger class has already come to the belief that the right thing to do is save Longshot himself and leave for Krakoa behind Professor X's back.
In the end, Longshot gets away.
This is a volume worth picking up, I give Vaughan credit for piecing together a story that is absent of Wolverine and really good.
