This was a great Issue, Jeph Loeb is surpassing what expected out of him in this book. The plot is like the last one in that a person close to the main character is the narrator, although the only problem I have with this book is how long the narrator is in the book. Other than that the writing was good and the art by Art Adams blow me away. I give this 4 Timelife magazines featurring the X-Men on the Cover out of 5....

This issue is actually alrite and has potential. Focusing on just a small group of characters and how their lives are affected by Ultimatum. Like we always hear you can’t run from your past forever and Jean finds out in this issue. Soon she is on the run again. I’m intrigued as why they are coming together as a team and their purpose will be in a world where they are being hunted. Wish it wasn’t bi monthly though. Still pretty good issue. ...

The second chapter of Ultimate X is the origins of Karen Grant. A girl with the powers of telekenisis and works at the mall. She is mysterious and it seems like she has a secret. In the beginning of the issue Karen is using hair dye so that is a clue to who she is. The story is narrated by her boyfriend and seems to love her. ***SPOILER*** After the nice start we get the another nice start.This time we meet Karen Grant who in fact is none other then our friendly redhead, Jean Grey in another body.We can say that it's some kind of incarnation. Although she is the main protagonist of this issue, the narrator is a 'mall cop' who's in love with Karen and asked her out on a date multiple times but she couldn't go for some reason. So after Ultimatum and the havoc that was created, I was refusing to touch this book. I couldn't turn my back on the merry mutants of the Ult. verse. After reading the first issue I wasn't too sucked in. I went on to read issue two and thats when I was sold. I really enjoyed this issue and the idea of Karen, who she was and why she was the way she was. Obviously readers have revealed the true nature of Karen, but if you don't I wont spoil it. I do tho, really enjoy and identify with the issue...
