On a quiet night in New York City, Spider-Man interrupts a shakedown by the Kingpin's Enforcers. The failed shakedown doesn't sit well with their boss. He's newly back in town after bribing his way out of a murder rap. With Spider-Man again costing him money, the Kingpin wants to find out who's behind the mask so that he can take him out for good.
Over at the Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson is throwing his support behind Sam Bullit, a District Attorney candidate with an anti-vigilante platform. Peter's got a case of the blues. He convinced that everybody hates Spider-Man while turning a blind eye to bad guys and dirty dealing. A point of view that doesn't sit well with Jameson when Peter brings it up. A bad day all around to be Peter Parker.
