    Cellar. Door.

    Contain issues 72-78.

When Harry Osborn returns to Midtown High after disappearing for a while, things appear to seem normal for the young teen, but Peter feels troubled by his return. Peter has every right to believe so as Harry harbors a dark secret thanks to his father that will activate when he says the words: "Cellar. Door..."

There was no real surprise that Harry Osborn was going to turn into the Hobgoblin. Sure, an Ultimate version of Roderick Kingsley could have someone been incorporated somehow, but Norman Osborn's  influence runs too deeply in his son's life, especially in the Ultimate Universe. Last time Harry showed up was in Ultimate Six swearing to Peter that he would pay. Cue a few months later, Harry Osborn shows up at Midtown High out of the blue and seemingly normal.

I like how "Harry" was manipulating Peter and Mary Jane causing the two to have a major rift. Their relationship have been rocky since the death of Gwen Stacy, and Harry makes things worse revealing that he and MJ "dated". This also causes Peter to become paranoid towards Osborn seeing how his father is crazy and the fact that he knows Peter secret. It all leads to a brawl between these two friends.

Since the start of the series, Mark Bagley hasn't lost his edge with the artwork. It still looks sharp. There's not a lot of action in this volume until near the end when Spider-Man and Hobgoblin duke it out, and Bagley makes it count.

Some issues I have with this volume is how long the story is. It's about six issues worth. The story goes back and forth with flashbacks of Harry Osborn and then switches to the present. It drags the story somewhat because some of the flashbacks are less important. I also wasn't a fan of the last story with MJ dealing with her breakup with Peter. It's not that I don't mind Peter and MJ breaking up once again, but the story just felt unimportant.

Overall: Hobgoblin makes an impact in Peter's life in this volume causing some tension with people Peter care and admire. This was a satisfying issue overall, and it might be interesting to see Harry return in the future.
