    Review: Ultimate Spider-Man #155 0

    After getting fired, Spidey prepares himself for an even scarier prospect - - a one-on-one meeting with J. Jonah Jameson.  The Good The "partnership" that Jameson and Peter get into here is such a sensible idea, I'm baffled as to why it's never come up once in all the decades of the regular title. Peter's dogged - - even irrational - - insistence on personal responsibility during their dialog goes much farther to express his nobility than any number of pose-downs on skyscrapers would.       Cover I love the art for the cover but the people on the cover were pretty random since none of them were in the issue at all Story Peter loses his job and gets a call from JJ Jameson. Jameson says he wants to do a favor for Peter for saving his life. Peter makes an agreement and Peter gets a job at the Daily Bugle and Jameson will help pay for Peter’s college. As Peter swings home Peter sees Kitty and takes her home with him for dinner and Peter forgets that it is his birthday and his family ...

    Ultimate Comics has been hyping this "Death of Spider-Man" event for at least the past 4 months.  In the apparent prelude to the arc we again find Spider-Man doing regular Spider-Man things.  There is literally no hint of impending doom except for the Spider-Man mask at the bottom of the last page.  I'm all for hyping events but this has nothing to do with anything.  With that in mind, however the issue is very strong as we see a key event in the life of Spider-Man and the return of a player we ...
