Congrats Ultimate Spider-man for making it to 10 years!

To summarize this issue is pretty much asking what Ultimate Spider man being doing in the last 10 years and recently: Is he really a hero, or a menace?

    Pros:
Instead of the usual kind of story we see in Ultimate comics Spiderman, this story is told by The Ultimates trio of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor's point of view on how Spider man played a role in New York. All three make great points about the web slinger. The ending is a bit predicable, but acceptable.

There's even a small back up story about if Peter should quit being a hero and what makes a hero. This story struck me the most. There was some times in the Ultimate Spiderman when Peter felt this way, but in this side story,  Brian Bendis tells what makes Spider-man so important, and some reasons why I still read this series.

The biggest part about this issue is that it features a lot of artists and colorists, including the one who help start Ultimate Spider Man: Mark Bagley. David Lafuente shows off some more of his work before passing the torch to Sara Pichelli, and her work is improving from the last issue. Each artists does their share of pages to illustrate the story that the Ultimates tell Carol.

    Cons:
There's no development on the disappearance of Gwen Stacy.

While I enjoyed the majority of artists in this issue, I ask myself, "Isn't this too many?"  I said that because at times, the transitions between the artists didn't fit. These are wonderful artists in my opinion and I can understand that this is a celebration, but it felt a bit cramped especially in the second story.

Overall:  I'm still amazed that it's been 10 years since Ultimate universe was started, and while it has changed dramatically, to me, Ultimate Spider man keeps it going. Is this anniversary issue worth the extra bucks? That's a good question. If you followed Ultimate Spider man since the beginning, I would make the exception. The future looks very different now for Peter. As most people may heard, The death of Spider-man may be coming for Peter. I hope this isn't the case, as I would love to have more years of Ultimate Peter Parker.

After the Chameleon fiasco, the Ultimates take a meeting to discuss whether they should allow Spider-Man to continue his superheroic career or if they should intervene in his affairs.  The Good The strength of Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man run is that even an issue entirely about the Ultimates taking a meeting can be really riveting. Spidey's adventures have long been described as a metaphor for coming-of-age, but I haven't run in to any other comics that have so keenly captured him as a bright,...

      Issue #150 0

Ultimate Spider-Man turns 10 and 150 at the same time!  Ultimate Spider-Man has been something that has been an amazing thing for Marvel, because it produced a universe that was different, attractive, and profitable to both new and old readers alike.  Spider-Man has been a staple in the Ultimate Universe.  This issue marks another Anniversary issue (it seems like we have one of these every month now)  and while the price is certainly steep, the amount you get is well worth the price.    Continui...
