A Dark Turn
Finally got this issue too and I have to say it, after all of the negative feedback I heard about Ultimate Power I have to say I really enjoy this series.
Fury unveils his actions and confesses to Spidey that he was the one who hired Dr.Doom in Latveria to stop Reed Richard's researches because Reed was trying to find a way to reverse Ben's skin to the normal with this having the risk of opening a gate to a parallel universe.Things got under control until Hyperion and his team arrived and took Reed to their universe without any explanation.
Turned out that Reed is held hostage by Emil Burbank in that another universe where a virus destroyed almost the world and they needed a 'black sheep' to take the blame for that as turned out Emil was the one who created the virus to get rid of Hyperion.
Meanwhile in Washington in that same universe, Thor is fighting Hyperion who turns out is far more powerful than the Norse God plus if this wasn't enough, Hyperion's men arrive to help him.
Back at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, Nick Fury reveals Spider-Man that he has a back up plan, a so called plan B if something goes wrong and we see that he brought the Hulk with him.
At the same time, Pietro and Wanda are trying to find a way out to help Thor and Cylcops and the rest of the X-Men give a hand of help Reed's but the Squadron Supreme arrives to take them down...
I got into this series because the Marvel's top writers are writing this nine issue miniseries.1-3 was written by Brian Michael Bendis(Ultimate Spider-Man,Secret Invasion,Siege), 4-6 by J.M.Straczynski(Amazing Spider-Man,Silver Surfer) and 7-9 by Jeph Loeb(Heroes,Smallville,Ultimate X,Ultimatum)
Overall I give this one a 4 out of 5 stars.
