The Ultimate Future Foundation kicks off with a BANG!

THE ULTIMATE FUTURE FOUNDATION IS HERE! Written by Joshua Hale Fialkov, pencils by Mario Guevara and Tom Grummett, inks by Juan Vlasco, and colors by Rachelle Rosenberg. Next review!

    The Good

We have Doctor Susan Storm, Iron Man, Falcon, Phil Coulson, Machine Man, and Victor Von Doom which makes up the Ultimate Future Foundation! An interesting roster, but it totally works for this series! The Future Foundation are like the Fantastic 4, however a bigger team that deals mainly with the universal threats. While the F4 is known to handle universal threats, they still handle minor ones as well. So seeing a interpretation of the Future Foundation in the Ultimate universe is really interesting and from this first issue, really enjoyable.

This first issue doesn't have many important events or plot elements revealed as it acts as an introduction to the series and it's characters. Writer Joshua Hale Fialkov did an excellent job at creating a small scenario where we got to see the entire team and also what they have to bring to the table. I like the idea of how everyone on the team is a genius to some capacity and has a different opinion on the situation. This is very unique as it gives us multiple scenarios where one genius isn't relied on all the time during this series. How Fialkov introduced the characters was really subtle and didn't make them feel forced as if he was trying to get this first issue done with and move on to the first story arc.

The artwork was really amazing! The art team really captured my eye with all the different colors and how they all blend extremely well with the art style. The pencilers, inker, and colorist all did a great job that helped paint the story that Joshua Hale Fialkov was telling with this first issue.

    The Bad

No complaints, it was a solid issue!

Not the worst thing I've ever read... 0

I really can't think of many positive things to say about this issue. The cover is...mediocre at best, the banter isn't horrible, and I suppose the team composition is somewhat novel. Other than that, though, this comic is an utter failure. The art isn't terrible, but it's pretty bad. Faces often look distorted, there's some strange use of movement lines and the colouring is rather strange. I HATE the team's costumes, the team doesn't seem to work well together (there's so much unnecessary bick...

Gonna have to get used to those costumes 0

A solid start for a team I can´t believe I haven´t seen before. Despite their humorous bickering, they work very well together. And the twist at the end, the one we all thought we were going to see coming? Well done Fialkov sir, well done. I´m looking forward to what will come next, and I hope it keep it´s fun tone....
