A not so epic conclusion to a not so epic run.
This is a slower book when compared to the past two issues, painfully slow. It focuses largely on Alex Summers and the folks that are looking for him, and that's about it. The United States was under attack and being destroyed by Nimrods. It's a little strange that those events are not even addressed here. Sure, we spend most of the issue in a mental institution, but it still feels weird that nobody is all that concerned. Nick Spencers run on Ultimate Comics X-men has overall been underwhelming. This issue does not help, though it is not awful as I liked delving into the character of Alex in the institute. However, as I said the issue feels really slow in the beginning. To sum Spencers run in a nutshell: "If he was playing for the long game, then it's a failure of sorts."
