    Ultimate Comics X-Men #12 Review

Ultimate Comics X-Men has been the odd kind of the Ultimate Comics lineup. How you rebuild a team that has been broken so badly since Ultimatum. Nick Spencer doesn't rebuild it but he gave us new enemies and new mysteries to compound the delicate situation mutantkind suffers in the Ultimate Marvel Universe. What Spencer did right was showing how hunting mutants has turned out of control for the government...literally.

    The High Points:

Revelations is the name of this issue really as we see something we X-men fans recognize: trouble ahead. I'm not spoiling anything but Spencer did a splendid job in leaving us the readers with a clear picture of who the real enemy is (I managed to figure it out). But for those who are new readers, don't worry the story unfolds itself in a way anyone can understand.

Paco Medina has done an excellent job in making the art as clear and sharp as possible. I must say the he got the character's expressions right and the colors by Walden Wong are top notch.

    The Low Points:

This is the end run of Spencer's tenure with the Ultimate Marvel but I'll discuss later in detail in another article.

    Final Verdict:

Phase One of the Mutant Situation in Ultimate Marvel is complete. Now we enter phase two in which Woods will begin to form the new X-Men team.
