    Venom War Part Three

So, we get part three of Miles introduction to this new Ultimate Venom first introduced in the 16.1 issue. How does it hold up? Pretty well actually. I like that they are reintroducing Gwen and Mary Jane again and it was clever to use them for exposition purposes. I thought the reference to the Ultimate Spider-Man videogame was pretty neat too. Speaking of which, Ganke is finally becoming a serious supporting character(even though his annoying goofy side still shines through). Even though this wasnt a fight issue I thought it was pretty well paced, and the ending cliffhanger promises more action next issue(and probably more intense, since it takes place at a hospital where there is more chance for innocent bystanders). It seems to me like Maria Hill has figured out Miles is Spider-Man by now, she just want him to accept her help before she reveals it. Despite all this, the issue isnt flawless(which is why I didnt give it a full grade). Granted these are nitpicks of mine, but if it was a perfect issue, they shouldnt be there. First off, I thought the art was a tad bit inconsistent. Even though I love Pichellis art overall there were a few odd facial expressions here and there, and there was this one page where Ganke looked skinny in one panel, and then his usual self in the next. Also there were a few jokes thrown in when Miles dad came to the hospital, which while I thought they were funny, they felt very out of place. I´m hoping Miles dad survives this story arc, but juding from the teaser image Marvel sent out recently, I fear the worst.
