Are You In, Or Are You Out?
Synopsis: Miles has another conversation with his uncle.
Boy, things are quite different when it comes to uncles between Peter and Miles. With Peter, Uncle Ben taught him: "With great power comes great responsibility", that helped him with his heroic career, until his death. With Miles' Uncle Prowler, it's: "With great power comes great blackmail." Quite frankly, I don't exactly see Prowler as a villain for Miles, more instead like a anti-hero. In his own ways, Aaron is just looking out for his nephew....along with his own interests. Yes, it's an obstacle for Miles to somehow overcome, but that's the question: Can he overcome being blackmailed by his uncle?
Bendis' take on this new arc goes into a darker direction for Miles and it's fantastic due to not knowing what can happen. No one told Miles that being the new Spider-Man was going to be easy, and he's one step closer from taking on the dangerous Scorpion.
I seriously thought that Sara Pichelli was the only artist that can be on this series, but David Marquez is really making something of himself in her place. Marquez uses every panel to his advantage especially when it comes to the spread pages. I love his use of the layouts especially towards the end that gives off a dramatic beat each panel.
Overall:
Ever since the start of the new story arc, each issue brings an exciting new twist and turns for Miles.
