"Daddy's home, boys. Hoo-ha."
Synopsis: Ultimate Avengers and New Ultimates face off against Gregory Stark and afterward, changes are in store.
What's Good?
The finale is finally here as both The Ultimate Avengers and New Ultimates fight to stop Gregory Stark's plans. If you have read any of the Ultimate books, you know that a huge battle takes place, and the main villain throws down. The thing I liked about Gregory Stark he's like Nick Fury when he first started out in the Ultimate Universe: wanting to change the world by breaking the rules. It was cool seeing the two brothers go at it.
It was the right move for Carol Danvers to step down as Director of SHIELD. She wasn't suited for it and I don't fully believe it's her fault for the events taken place in this series and the Death of Spider-Man (as almost everyone played a part in his death). With the Ultimate Universe being "reborn " again, maybe it's time that Ultimate Ms. Marvel make an appearance in the future? Nick Fury got his wish and is now back as the head of SHIELD I also like some changes in positions with Black Widow becoming second in command/ leader of Avengers Black ops. Besides her, Doctor Lang is starting to grow on me.
Leinil Yu and Stephen Segovia's artwork are still the best part in the finale, however the violence is somewhat toned down compared to the previous issues.
What's Bad?
Don't expect The Death of Spider-Man to make a impact with this issue. The main point for this issue was wrapping up the loose ends between Gregory Stark and the aftermath. That being said, Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates tries to have a epilogue towards the end, but it doesn't work. There's not enough pages to do so. Maybe in Ultimate Fallout it will be touch on more.
Overall: Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates did it's part in getting ready to restart the Ultimate Universe. Now comes the Ultimate Fallout.
