After coming back from the war, he was heavily disturbed and fought Spider-Man, defeating him.
However, under some introspection he came to the conclusion a life of crime and evil wasn't for him, so he soon turned into a very patriotic hero. In fact, he stood against the Super-human Registration Act, because the loss of civil liberties would be too much.
During an interview with Sally Floyd with other Super-humans, SHIELD apparently followed Sally and captured Typeface, along with the others she was interviewing.
He is then transported into the "Negative Zone" which is a holding area for mutants during the Civil War.
