Read it, loved it. Sale's art is a perfect fit for Batman, and the story is wonderfully dark, like an old 40's detective film.

    Cool =D

    I loved it too!

Tim Sale draws the best Batman; other than Jim Lee, I think!

Didn't Sale say in the introduction that he and the writer always wanted to do a 40's gangster story in the batverse?

I'm still not clear on who did all the murders.

We know Gilda did the first three murders.

However I don't get whether Harvey did some of the other ones and Alberto did some.
Or. Harvey did them and Alberto just confessed to them because he was crazy and wanted atttention.
Or. Alberto did the ones after the first 3 and Harvey took the fall to to protect Gilda.

I can't keep it all straight...none of these seems to make sense 100%

I think Loeb intentionally leaves it open to make us guess.

Batman even says: "we'll never know for sure"

Nobody knows.  It was entertaining but overrated.

When a murder mystery doesn't make sense in the end, it wasn't a particularly good murder mystery.

Identity Crisis is overrated for a similar reason.

A superb book.  When my wife found out that Long Halloween was one of the inspirations for The Dark Knight, she asked if she could read my copy.  Then she read Dark Victory.  Then she read the Dark Knight Returns.  Then Year One, then Watchmen, then my entire collection of Teen Titans, JLA, JSA, and Outsiders.

Now she comes to the comic shop with me every week.  We read the new issues together in the evening.

This is a great book. I'm pretty new to comics myself mostly because they've only recently started to sell comics in my town and i don't trust buying things online but this was one of the first things i picked up along with a number of other Batman works and i loved it, and i highly reccomend it. You'll actually forget your reading which i think is the best type of reading.

Also one of my favorite's. Jeph Loeb is one of my favorite writers and Tim Sale's artwork is amazing in my opinion. It's very dark, just the way batman should be

I enjoy Sale's art as well.  That guy can do more with black ink than most artists can do with a whole palette of color.
