History

The hulking Lantern of Sector 786 has only served a short time in the Green Lantern Corps, but, in that time, he has shown himself to be a loyal, if hot tempered, Green Lantern. Turytt’s home planet has not been revealed, but his resemblance to the monster Doomsday is striking. It is unknown if this resemblance is a mere coincidence, or if there is a connection between Turytt’s species and that of the infant used in the accelerated natural selection experiments conducted to create Doomsday.

Turytt was chosen to join the Corps alongside with thousands of other Lanterns recruited during the reformation. He was assigned to protect Sector 786, formerly patrolled by his predecessor, the legendary Drill Instructor  Ke'Haan of Varva. As the new Lantern of Sector 786, it fell to Turytt to perform the sad duty of informing Ke'Haan's wife and children that Ke'Haan had been killed attempting to stop the Parallax-possessed Hal Jordan from destroying the Central Power Battery on Oa. This encounter deeply disturbed Turytt, who promised the family that he would "take out the sorry idiot" who killed Ke'Haan. Since that time, Turytt continued to harbor animosity towards the Green Lantern of Earth. 

Recently, in War of The Green Lanterns the guardians have dispatched a team of Green Lanterns lead by Salaak to recover Hal Jordan for treason against universe and the Green Lantern Corps.  Salaak was given was permission to hand select his team.  He chose :  B'dg (Sector 1014), Turytt, Stel (Sector 2937), Norchavius (Sector 26), Meadlux (Sector 1776), Lok Neboora and his sector partner Barreer Wot (3814).
