    Tron: Betrayal #1

This is the first book in the Tron: Betrayal series.  it starts off in 1983 where kevin flynn has created The Grid , a living virtual world with living programs within his computer hidden in his arcade . flynn has copied Tron over from the old ENCOM system to protect the new Grid. with flynn's son on the way he finds he can not travel back and forth as much , with this he constructs CLU 2  as a digital copy of his self to take care of the grid in his increasingly lengthy absences.
after many cycles (years) weeks in the real world flynn returns to find that many things have changed and that the grid is becoming self- replicating as it creates it's own programs, called iso's . flynn believes that these iso's are simply evolution , but on the other hand clu feels that iso's are unstable and may be the cause of the dangerous grid bugs destroying the city. In clu's growing  frustration to save his world but unable to make any major changes without permission from flynn , clu in flynn's image , takes over as creator. in the real world flynn just barely makes it to witness the birth of his son , sam.

For any fan of tron old or new this is a must have that bridges the gap between the movies !!!! 5 stars
