Arcade kidnapped several young heroes which included Finesse, Reptil, Striker, Veil, Toro, Spider-Girl and Firestar. Arcade placed them inside his Murderworld in hopes to kill these young heroes to restore his reputation. Toro was placed in a chamber filled with poisonous gas but he could pop his head out to snort some fresh air from the large holes above him. However, large robotic arms holding massive hammers were ready to pound him like a human whack-a-mole. Toro and the rest of his friends escaped Murderworld and defeat Arcade.
During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
