The Sides are Forming in London
In the third issue of Tomb of Dracula, the forces of both sides start to come together. Dracula has his powers, as well as slaves and willing helpers of means. Aligned against him are his descendant Frank Drake, Rachel, a descendant of his enemy Van Helsing, Rachel's man-servant Taj, and in a nice departure from typical vampire stories - the authorities.
It's that last part that I really like about this issue. When implicated in the murder of a night porter, Van Helsing, Nital and Drake prove their innocence by taking Scotland Yard investigators to the London Morgue to await the porter's rise from the grave!
This is a solid issue, and shows why Tomb of Dracula became a cult phenomenon. Even the coloring is well done (as those who've compared the originals to the Essentials black and white reprints can attest).
Good issue of a great series.
