Donatello creates a device to be able to find life forms. While playing around with it he finds a non-human life form that isn't one of the turtles or Splinter. He and Splinter go to investigate and they discover a huge bat-like creature. Donatello saves Splinter from being carried off by the creature but he is then taken himself. Splinter returns to the sewer for weapons and grabs Mikey to go along with him. They find Donatello and the creature at the docks where Donatello is trying to reason with the creature. Mikey and Splinter jump in and scare the creature off under Donatello's protests as he felt he was making progress and says that the creature just wants to go home. Afterward, Donatello tries to boost the power on his life-form detector and it blows up.
