Johns's sold me this book like he sold Speedy gum.
Geoff Johns is money for DC Comics. Anything right now he writes will sell boat loads of books. I loved his Superboy arc with Francis Manapul so much I double dipped and purchased that trade even though I had the monthlies. Titan Titans is a book I've read many praise for and I decided to give the book a shot with this issue.
I must say $2.50 well spent. It is a quick easy read, but fun and accessible to any age bracket. An adult would walk away with a different level of appreciation for the book, especially if the adult reads DC Comics. Geoff Johns' is writing for his fans. Playing upon the promo rings that his blackest night released, he jokes with the novelty of their value.
This issue is also the issue to bring Superboy into the Tiny Titans group. I love Conner.
Overall, I have to admit, if I had a kid who I could read this series too, I would be reading this series religiously. I likely would pick up the first trade (on sales) to see how it is.
cheers!
