I want to like Time Masters, but for some reason I just can't.

I have to admit that Bob Wayne & Lewis Shiner's update of Rip Hunter is, in theory, a good one. By giving Hunter and his crew a villainous organization like the Illuminati to struggle against, it seems to give some purpose to the Rip Hunter saga that was always lacking.

But then the character development seems to be stalled, and one almost wishes some of the characters (especially Corky), would just get eaten by a dinosaur or something.

But what really gets me here is the artwork. I don't know if Art Thibert is just a bad artist and inker Jose Marzan Jr. is somewhat saving the day, or if the comic was just getting really quick and dirty artwork from Thibert instead of his full attention - but whatever it is, I don't like it.

what's with this weird looking gun?

From the weird looking smoke coming from the cigar on the cover image to the inconsistent look of Jonah Hex throughout the book, this artist just isn't for me.
