As a young boy, Tim Drake cleverly deduced the identity of Batman. After the death of Jason Todd, Tim convinced Batman that he should be the new Robin. Eventually resigning as Robin, he is now Red Robin, the leader of the Teen Titans.

We can't have 2 Robins

One would be named Robin, and the other should be called The Cardinal.

Oh, but we can have a Batwoman and a Batgirl, right? Damian and Tim have the strong personalities necessary to keep the two personas separate in the minds of comic book readers.

Right, this. There's already multiple Bat personas included TWO actual Batmen. So I don't see what the big deal is. Also, the Cardinal would be a pretty corny name... =/
