    Greer Nelson (née Grant) first appeared as The Cat in the comic of the same name. She later became Tigra through a mystic ritual that bound the soul of one of the Cat People to her own.

    Tigra has years of combat experience from being The Cat, Tigra the Avenger, and a police officer. There is no way a small time hood with no experience would have got the best of her.

    How come a relatively new character can't beat Tigra? Maybe he has the skills.
    Also Bendis made The Hood shoot Wolverine in the junk, and that's just awesome.

    Hood would have took her down.
    he isnt so new at all
    he clearly haves fighting skills and got the trick to get invisible,besides he shot her and the attack was from surprise giving him another edge.i am not surprised by this,but enjoied him saing he could kill tigra mother if she did not coperate

    Actually I would like to see Hood and Tigra again. Hood did promise to off her mother if she would interfere with him, and she did in New Avengers Annual #2. So I would like to see if Hood just bluffed about killing her mother or did he meant it.

    This is old, but replying anyway. I actually think that Bendis really likes Tigra. Having her get attacked and terrorized by someone like the Hood made me enjoy the character a lot more. She used to come across as just sort of a happy go lucky, guy crazy, cat lady. Her beating gave her a lot of depth that she didn't have before. It made me a lot more interested and invested in her than I was before it happened. I thought her whole appearance in that issue was brilliantly written. It made you sympathize with her C-List Marvel Universe status when she was complaining about getting assigned to a crappy state for the initiative, and then she gets the crap kicked out of her ten minutes later. I thought it was kind of heart breaking and it made me like her a lot more.

    Not to mention that she is now pregnant with a skrull baby and she plans on keeping it, so we haven't seen the last of her.
