The two first episodes of the new series premiere tonight...although I hate the animation style, I will definitely tune in!
Thundercats
Team » Thundercats appears in 221 issues.
The Thundercats are a group of anthropomorphic felines who fight with The Mutants in the fictional Third Earth world. They are led by Lion-O. Recently they have had books published under Wildstorm.

The new show looks cool tho still not sure if I'm ok with Batman Beyond and Lion-O being the same guy but other wise great
Just finished watching it, I thought it was pretty interesting. Love everything about it so far. This will keep me occupied until Young Justice returns hopefully. Can't wait for the next episode!

its really different it looked like it takes places like 1000 years into the future of the original Thundercats. It also reminded me of Troy.
The original voice of Lion-o played Lion-os father winYep HOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@thehummingbird: I'm sure they'll be playing it a dozen times in the next week so don't worry. :]probably not until they start playing reruns...Cartoon Network rarely reairs shows like this
It was ill I loved that they played up the tension between Tygra & Lion-O; Grune's role was expected but not this early & I'm glad they're saving Panthro for later Tygra was awesome & Cheetara was sexy but deadly; I loved Lion-O's voice & look Claudus was cool too & I loved Slythe he looked more muscular than in the original instead of a chubby lizard mutant with a huge upperbody. But Mummra looked the same just better coloring & sound more sinister
I don't know about this new Thundercats, but I will give it a chance.my thoughts also. i guess it was pretty good for a children cartoon, but it is so different from what i remember from the original toon that i am unsure how i feel about it. will watch the new episodes until i can make a better conclusion. so far i thought the character design and voices where hit and miss. hope Panthro cani come back and play an important role, because he was my favorite character as a kid. idk, i guess i just need to see more.
please do this for Silverhawks as well :)
@danhimself: Is it me or is the episode based on the battle of Troya?Caught that too huh?
That's something that has always bothered me, they never replay any of the episodes...its a wonder why a lot of these shows get canceled, they get played once and its suppose to take off with just one airring lol They play the same schedule all the time and set out this small little block on Fridays for shows like Batman, Young Justice, etc and thats it.
If you haven't seen it, it's probably made its way online by now, on youtube or the official CN site.
I saw it and I liked it. I am so happy that snarf cant talk, Tygra and Lion-O being brothers is kind of an interesting twist. Mumm-ra is really evil, and I like it, in the original version he was kind of wimpy.

And speaking as a fan of the old series, I find this one to be just as good. I'm glad they've made it so that snarf doesn't talk, he sure did piss me off throughout the entire run of the older series. And I absolutely love Cheetara, she was great. I can't wait for more.

SNARF SNARF!
lol OMG he was so annoying in the 80's/90's
Snarf is much more cutter and doesn't speak, but makes cuddly noises.. <3
wish they had a Snarf Backpack...>_>
Everyone was great,i loved that they made the cast younger. The clerics were very cool,i love the way they attack in formation, very very fast.Tigra is sexy..i would date a Cat./Human..lol j/k
Lion-O was a wimp,he let Tygra knock the shyt outta him! lol he fell to his doom and Tygra rung the bell like he said he would XD....tisk tisk poor little bother.
I like how they made Lion-O and Tygra brothers, they were always close like best friends i the original.Though he's adopted older bother of Lion-O...lol Tigers and Lions cant be related..can they??.. nope unless unnatural cross breeding! =P
Cheetarah is my homie, she put it down for all the ladies(me) out there.she whooped ass!! Oh and Wily Kit and Wily kat are adorable, forgot they were twins.
...It was sad how Jaga sacrificed himself :(
now waiting on Bengali(white tiger), Pumyra and Lynx-O.Oh and they made Panthro older then the rest >=/

I have not been able to watch because of the Gym but man I have been wanting to watch.
I want to watch because well when I was young I watched Voltron and Thundercats and even then I saw the potential. While both had awesome stuff in there the repeat animation and very predictable plot lines make these almost unbearable to watch. Considering that now cartoons are taken seriously and companies actually give them decent budgets (think of Avatar, Ben 10 and Generator Rex) the potential for these shows may be realized.
You know, I really, truly liked this. I think this new take is great and sets up the story to engage kids as well as late teen/adult viewers. This very much so reminds me of the approach WB took with JL/JLU. It isn't shy about lifting influence from other shows/films, but it has enough originality to set it apart.
Lynx-Oh was in this episode he's the one that told dude to ring the alarm. I don't know if he made it out of Thundara though...looks like the reptiles weren't too interested in taking prisoners. 1,000s of years of oppression tends to raise the blood lust up a bit :P Lynx-Oh was my fav of the new characters they introduced in the original and I hope he pops back up later on.
I loved that Snarf couldn't talk as well, that one change alone made it better than the original, love.
The sibling rivalry between Tigra/Lion-O really adds an interesting dynamic to the show. Wily Kit/Kat were great, I loved them as streetwise orphans. Cheetara was firmly responsible for irresistible attraction to female track and field participants and in this show she's everything she needed to be and more. Her being a cleric was dope. I liked the clerics in general. They were a nice nod to Ninja Scroll. I thought I'd be watching this and repeatedly face palming, but I must say they've done a damn fine job and the changes they've made have improved this show greatly. A while back and went and tried to watch a few of the old Thundercat episodes and just found that it truly has lost it's luster for me. Crazy how things change when you whip off the nostalgia goggles and get objective.
