This series makes me wonder why there is not a side mini series called, "Secret Invasion : Villains", Hell, it is their planet also. You would think at least a few of them would want to join the battle. Personally, I would love to read that book.
Especially considering how much I loved to watch the villains cut loose here. The cover, though slightly misleading, is pretty good. Also I would note that in the last two issues, Osbourne has been a one note pony, and is in danger of becoming boring. Still this book is increasingly becoming relevant to the central story line. It is also pretty strong on its own.

Have we been spoiled by Warren Ellis and Mike Deodato?  I think so.  It's not really fair to the new creative team but unfortunately, that's how it is.  At least with the first few issues they do.  On top of that, they have to deal with a Secret Invasion tie-in that was most likely thrusted upon them.

I did think it was weird that the Skrull Captain Marvel attacked Thunderbolt Mountain.  Maybe I missed it but I thought he was pretty much free of the Skrulls' programming.  And then he seems quickly talked down by Norman Osborn of all people.  Okay, that I'll buy.  Norman Osborn is a crazy, psychotic dude.  I do like how he is being written.  Everyone always points to the Joker as the craziest/deadliest villain but old Norman has quite a few tricks up his sleeve.  He considers himself above all and is willing to use any and all of the Thunderbolts to do what he feels needs to be done.  He doesn't care one bit whether or not their lives are at stake.

What's creepier is seeing Norman in a jumpsuit, with a gun, laughing his head off.  Let's just not forget how much damage the Green Goblin did when he was let loose.  Will we see him again?

I do miss Deodato's art.  I don't think a character like Bullseye looks right with a smile on his face, even if he's being allowed to do what he wants to.  I'm willing to give Fernando Blanco a chance.
