The Juggernaut Was Just the Beginning...

The alpha squad barely survives their encounter with the Juggernaut as things go from bad to worse.

    The Good
This book has really thrived amid the events of Fear Itself. I never thought I'd be saying this, but this crossover event has really given this title a sense of purpose and necessity, something it was in need of a few issues prior to its tie in issues. This title's been one of the best Fear Itself tie ins and has been doing a great job of making the chaos and panic feel palpable in it's title.

I'm really glad Satana's in this book the more Parker writes her the more she grows on me. She's definitely been coming in handy lately and meshing well with the team. Plus seeing her toy with Moonstone and get under her skin's a very interesting dynamic.

Despite being handicapped Warden Walker WILL open a can of whoop ass at a moments notice. I swear he's almost enjoying the craziness going on at the Raft and was getting a bit stir crazy sitting behind his desk with nothing to punch in the face.

Luke Cage should be dropped from this book entirely. It's truly been quite great without him. Hopefully Songbird, Mach V, and Moonstone will continue to be the focus of this book after Fear Itself ends.

Seeing Moonstone, Mach V, and Songbird interact with one another this issue was really great. It reminded me of the good ol' days of the original Thunderbolts. They've all come a long way since the TBolts began, but somethings truly never change.

I knew, knew, knew Bert was up to something!!! Finally! This issue proves that Fixer's not the straight shooter that he's been portraying himself to be.

During her time at the base Satana works out a way to get the Underbolts out into the field. She uses a bit of Baron Gothenvald's magic to accomplish this aim. It was nice to see a reference to the prior stories leading into this event. Parker actually sprinkles a lot of little seeds that hint at future events in this issue.

    Man-Thing's back

The Juggernaut may not've destroyed the Windy City, but Sin has other plans for her assault. Badly injured, fatigued, and on their last leg it's up to the TBolts to fend off Sin's forces until the cavalry arrives. Next issue promises to have quite a bit of action.

    The Bad
The ladies faces look really wrong on this cover

I'm just not a fan of Shalvey's pencils. They're just so bland to me. I can't wait for Walker to come back to this title.

    The Verdict
    BUY THIS COMIC!!!
Thunderbolts has been moving in the right direction lately and has been telling some of it's most fun, action packed tales. This book is one of Marvel's sleeper hits and I hope that tying into this company wide event will gain it the larger audience it deserves.
