This wasn't exactly my favorite issue of a comic ever. It was a good ending to the story, one which I really wanted to be a little more beefy. I realize that Deadpool is most known for his mouth, but there was WAY too much talking and not enough action for me.
We get started with the Osborn and the Thunderbolts pretty much standing around discussing why Deadpool has been beheaded by now. Of course it's Taskmaster, so his lack of a healing factor explains first why he doesn't wake up when Black Widow believes he will (which was a funny moment). The Thunderbolts do remind me a lot of a team of Avengers, they complain all the time about each other and really don't get along.
Deadpool shows up, confuses the 'Bolts and starts a fairly good fight. The best fighter, sadly, is Taskmaster who doesn't get his name on any of the promos... so, he's getting ripped off. The guy owns. There is some comedy in here, not as funny as Diggle's writing of Deadpool the last issue, something I brought up in my review for that issue.
Ultimately:
- Osborn calls the Thunderbolts "Z-listers"
- Deadpool gets really close to killing Osborn
- Deadpool gets owned
- Osborn gets his credit card stolen
- Deadpool may have found love
The writing isn't as good as the last issue. The art was good, although I don't feel as great about how Deadpool's skin looks like he has an allergy problem. It's a fine cap off to the arc, I would have preferred a more fantastic fight. If you want to cap off the arc, pick it up. If you're looking for a stand alone issue to pull you into Thunderbolts as a title, wait 'til next month.
