    Thunderbolts #1 - Review

Take a look at the team: Punisher, Elektra, Deadpool, Venom and Red Hulk. Needless to say, I had high expectations for this title. This was a good first issue, although, unfortunately, it didn't match my expectations.

The pacing is slow, but that is acceptable for a first issue. The whole number is focused on Ross trying to convince the five "heroes" into joining the team. Honestly, I couldn't understand the reasons for making it up. We can obviously can get an idea of why Thunderbolt decided to create it. I mean, a bunch of assassins gathered in one team has, of course, means to eliminate criminals, but we don't really get to know the motives for making it up only now.

The dialogue between Ross and Frank is very well executed, and will keep you thrilled as if it were an action scene. The following issues look very promising due to the awesome team. My greatest problem with this, and unfortunately I'll carry that problem until the end of the series, is the artwork. Man, I'd certainly give this comic a higher rating if it wasn't for the art. It just looks lazy and sometimes Punisher looks like a dork. Hopefully there'll be a change of artists later on, so that full entertainment of the following numbers can be achieved.

Also, I wish we could've seen some more of Venom, Elektra and Wade. This issue is mostly focused on Frank and Ross. Despite what I have said, this was an enjoyable comic, although I read it very quickly. Overall, this is worth checking out and the following issues look extremely promising, although the art may hold 'em back. Thunderbolts #1 gets a 6/10.

I decided to go into this series with an open mind as prior to reading this issue there were things that I was looking forward to, like the characters and seeing Punisher and Deadpool two of my favourite underrated characters team up, whereas I wasn't too sure if I'd like Steve Dillon's art as I usually don't like it.PlotThis issue sees Thunderbolt Ross A.K.A the Red Hulk putting the Thunderbolts together. He goes all around the world from Somalia, France and Afghanistan to recruit his Thunderbo...

***SPOILER FREE REVIEW***I admit, I was pretty eager for this title to come around. The idea of a group of anti-heroes/near-villains like the Thunderbolts being assembled by General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (pun intended) should be a fun title. Unfortunately, this title was a rather large let down.Reading the first issue of Thunderbolts reminded me quite a bit of last week's FF. Both comics were just small peeks of things to come, mostly focusing on the assembling of the respective teams. Onl...
