    Thor

Character » Thor appears in 8592 issues.

Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.

Would THOR be the one we love if he didn't have his hammer?

Lets say THOR was from Asgard, had a father Odin, same family trouble, enemies and was just a warrior who didn't fight with Mjolnir that was given to him by his father as well as THOR would just be another hero like Superman or Wonderwoman.

You'd basically see THOR without a prestigious weapon.

Would we or you still love THOR even if he didn't have a hammer associating him? Would THOR be the same?

In my interpretation Mjolnir as a weapon doesn't define Thor, but the enchantment reinforces his identity and helps to define his values and beliefs, without the enchantment the hammer would be just like Gungnir and that weapon isn't what defines Odin, plus i don't think we should compare Thor with other superheroes besides his unique beliefs he has to carry the weight of his future, All Father of Asgard...

no, he wouldn't have the same warrior vibe he has if he just went around smashing things with his fists like Superman. He also wouldn't be as cool as a character since it would do away with the worthiness angle and all the powers he gets with the hammer. I might still like the character but prob not nearly to the degree I do when he is his regular self(w/ Mjolnir). Plus, it would seem silly to bother making a Thor based on Norse mythology who didn't wield the hammer.

No not a chance. The hammer doesn't fully define him but it's a big part of him that is freakin awesome

The reality is he does not have to carry any future because he is doomed to die as well as Odin. However that said all creation goes with them.

What they fail to address is that how can you have the death of the gods without the death of all other things life and death battle.

Ragnarok means nothing if the cycle of life and death are not rebooted along with the gods.

Mjolnir is an extension of Thor's overall worthiness as a being. It's a big part of the total package. I mean one of the all-time iconic splash pages that Kirby did (that everyone has aped) is Thor flying right at the reader with Mjolnir in his hand. The fact that you have to be worthy to wield it is awesome.
