Batman fans would tend to buy a Batgirl/Batwoman ongoing, Hulk fans would tend to buy a She-Hulk ongoing, Spider-man fans would tend to buy an ongoing Spider-woman/Spidergirl comics, and Superman fans would tend to buy a Supergirl comics.

So Thor fans, I'd like to know if you're going to buy a Storm ongoing solo when it actually happens.

Yeah, I mean it's always good to follow the evolution of the sidekick. Thor chose wisely who to take as sidekick.

@jhazzroucher: Is this supposed to make any sense? In what way is Storm similar to Thor as a character? The only thing they have in common is their powers.

I would if they made her a part of Thor's story. If the made her an Asgardian Goddess..I would read Storm. With Asgard as her kingdom, she'd now actually have something to do and a reason for an ongoing. Otherwise she doesn't have a reason to have one and most likely never will.

As a Thor fan , I would be more prone to purchase a title with Sif or Valkyrie in the lead because they are similar to Thor. Couldn't care less about Storm. I think X men or Black Panther fans would want to read Storm since they actually have some connection to Storm other than lightning.

Storm can't hold an on-going.Only Wolverine can hold an on-going.I was shocked that they gaved Gambit an on-going too.I'm not sure how well that's doing. The best thing a writer can do for her is make her the lead character in a title.

@moywar700: gambit's book is not doing good at all. really mediocre. and i agree. almost all x-men are team players only. many complain that they dont get ongoings but dont buy it after 2-3 issues because its not what they wanted AKA their ridiculous fanfic. minis do work relatively well. 70% of the time.

@jhazzroucher: please dont compare she-hulk to a lesser character like storm.

I would buy a Storm solo but not because I am a Thor fan, but I would only buy a Storm solo if she was written by a good writer who appreciates Storm for the same reasons I do. I don't want a writer who spent his childhood worshipping Black Panther and who wants to write Storm so he can write her as a trophy wife or appeal to fans who like the idea of two characters they like together or like the idea of a character they like to be in a relationship.

I want a ethical and morally complex and smart Storm in a leadership or semi leadership like role making tough strong decisions that are questionable but relevant and realistic given the ethical and moral problems she faces, her friends face and the planet faces regularly. I want her to interact with a full cast of people/characters, including friends like Gambit, Yukio, Wolverine and Rogue, ex lovers, like Forge and Black Panther, and frenemies like Emma.

Plus Thor has Thor Girl, and Valkyrie and Sif that Thor fans would probably flock too, even though some of my fav Thor and Storm stories are interlinked. Would strictly Storm only fans buy a Thor solo book after all? 80 - percent of all the Storm fans with Storm avatars I have ever interacted with personally have spent more time telling me how overrated Thor and his weather powers are, not that they want to buy his book =p

Since there is no historical or linear connection from Thor to Storm, I don't see why Thor fans would consider buying a Storm comic for anymore reason than they would any other non-Thor related character.

I'm a Thor fan and I wouldn't buy a Storm comic based on the facts that I don't think the character is interesting enough to make me want to spend my money on it and because I'm pretty much tired of the X-Men.

No, I'm not much of a Storm fan.

I don't understand the relation between the two characters - is it because they have slightly similar abilities?

Yeah, as a Thor fan I had zero interest in Storm or any other X-person. As a Spider-Man fan, I've never bought an issue of Spider-Woman because they aren't related. Spider-Girl on the other hand is one of my favorite reads because it continues the Spider-Man story. Same with Batgirl and Batwoman. Batgirl has close ties to Batman, whom I love. Batwoman on the other hand, had almost nothing to do with Bruce Wayne, thus I have no interest in her.

I haven't been as big on Storm lately, but I'd probably buy her Storm stuff.

Now I know this wasn't asked, but I don't think Storm and Thor should appear together regularly. Especially seeing as Thor's powersett seems to outclass Storms. In huge events involving the whole marvel universe fine. But otherwise, I think Thor's presence would be more of a detriment to Storm's characters generally. Sure a really good writer could make them work in the same narrative or even tailor a story around it, but most of the time it would be bad imo.

    As a Spider-Man fan I'm not really interested in a Spider-Woman comic.

Also I'm reading the current Thor series and loving it. I would not buy an ongoing Storm comic.

@jhazzroucher: You're comparing two things that have nothing in common with each other except that they're both Marvel properties and can involve lightning in some capacity.

    It's nonsensical.
