I enjoyed it. It was fun.

Why the hate for Jurgens' run?
I loved Jurgens' run. Provided a ton of awesome moments like when Thor took on and defeated both Thanos and Mangog (EPIC).
@tifalockhart: wait dan jurgens had a run on Thor ?
I didn't hate it one bit.

@z3ro180: it was circa 2000 AD and ran like, sixty something issues.
My absolute favorite part was after the Mangog and Thanosi fight, where he wrecks the Wrecking Crew as a breather. It was all he could do to not KILL them.
@tifalockhart: Is that a reference to the british comic?
@maccyd: My bad, the literal year 2000.
the death of odin was certainly my favorite part of it, i really REALLY want to love the thanos/mangog and dark gods stuff, but f__k i cant stand John romita jr when he is at his peak and this was poor work even for him
I'll take Jurgens' run on Thor over the much more lauded JMS run, which he never even finished. Jurgens' take lasted six years and took Thor on quite the epic character journey. Jason Aaron is certainly doing some excellent work and is off to a great start. I only hope Marvel gives Aaron a lengthy, lengthy run, much like Dan had, on Thor.

JMS didnt finish his run, dew to marvel f__king him over dew to seige interupting his plans
Yeah it's rather unfortunate, but I think JMS' was the main culprit in setting up that whole Siege baloney. What with placing Asgard above Oklahoma for no real reason, and giving Don Blake a real identity separate from Thor (before that was unceremoniously dumped under Fraction). There were great elements in JMS' story, and he gave tons of respect to Thor, though I still think Jurgens' had a better understanding of the character.

JMS' run got cut way too short before its time. There was just as much character development in JMS' run as there was in Jurgens IMO. JMS' run was what got me into Thor and Marvel Comics in general. Jurgens' run was good from what I've seen but I have more personal experience with JMS' Thor run hence why I prefer it. That said, I haven't heard of any hate for Jurgens' run before.
