If Thor got a free shot with his God Blast, who is the most powerful character that would get downed by it?
Thor
Character » Thor appears in 8599 issues.
Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
Who is the most powerful character the God Blast can defeat?

Anyone Herald level and below.
Really? Thor's God Blast defeated Surtur and Ymir with the Twilight Sword and Zelia. I think it's limits are a bit higher than Herald level
I'm not sure I'd put it at say, a fed Galactus staggering level, but certainly stronger than a Herald. If anyone knows a Beta Ray Bill expert, call 'em in. They should have some decent Godblast showings.
Since Beta Ray Bill has nearly identical powers to Thor without the restraint, those feats should be applicable with a grain of salt.

Bill can't Godblast.... it's one of the few restrictions on Thor's powers since bill didn't actually become a God.
But Thor's Godblast has made a hungry Galactus flea for his life. so it would completely wipe Heralds out.

I was actually thinking about "killing" instead of "defeating". But yes, I guess it goes beyond herald level.

Noob here. What is a Godblast? Who can do it besides Thor? and what exactly is Herald level?
Its a deus ex machina energy attack that Marvels Thor can produce. Its basically his hail mary or biggest and most powerful energy attack. It requires him to ambiguously put some of himself into the attack, and it can be known to weaken him slightly. He has supposedly used it with and sans hammer, sometimes it appears to need to be charged up, but other times executed as a fairly normal attack. Funnily enough it wasn't actually termed the godblast for many many years after he had starting using the attack. My memory is foggy but I don't think it was named as the godblast until a video game first, comic second. Thor does occasionally reference it, but not specifically, as in one time when he was ill and in poor health. and he used it against the Juggernaut and he mentioned the times he used such an attack on Celestials and Galactus.
Thor is the only one is attributed to.
Herald level is ambiguous term to describe the power levels of characters that are around the same power range as Galactus heralds. There is range though because some are considered more powerful than others.
Hope that helps.
For my money the godblast as deus ex machina type offensive attack, there are no right or wrong answers. The people it has been used on greatly varies. I would say its proven to be consistently higher than Herald level though but then CV seems to have a preference for Herald characters. I think Durok is a good character reference for its power.

@CharlesMartel: No.
Why not? it's not like the entity has ever tanked an attack as powerful as it before
The blasts Thor used on Sentry and Null weren't God blasts right?
Can someone post scans of Thor doing the God blast please?

There's two
@thor_s_hammmer: That wasn't a god blast thor used, if it was he would be really weakend or even dead, he used a blast called the GEO-FORCE, its a blast where he taps in the planets gravitation wave... THORS GEO BLAST COULD HAVE KILLED A STARVING GALACTUS, IMAGINE WHAT A GOD BLAST CAN DO!!! IMAGINE WHAT A GOD BLAST FROM RKT OR KING THOR WOULD BE ABLE TO DO?
If we now speak about most powerful god-blast what Thor could possibly make. Anyone below skyfather level would turn into ash. And, yes it would kill also skyfather level beings. Maybe even stronger.
@leesensei: No. But it can stop him
@leesensei: No. But it can stop him
If I remember correctly isn't there a comic of Thor using the Godblast against Juggs and it actually stopped him?
Also to O.T: I believe a focus 100% blast of Godblast can potentially be a threat to a Midfed Galactus.
Well, Thor's most powerful god-blast was strong enough break Celestial armor +Mjölnir broke. So if we would speak about what most powerful god-blast would do: (lets just imagine that Mjölnir don't break, or he would use it without) I really, really don't wanna know... Seriously, too powerful.
the punisher
The Punisher? WTF
the punisher
The Punisher? WTF
i was being serious, wasn't i?
I don't think sky fathers would be worried, their powers are so vast and I'm sure there are many characters who could absorb the power.
Absorb? ABSORB? Oh, yeah, sure. And turn into ashes at the same time.
Batman with prep. ''locks and barricades doors and windows with uru.''
Like we have before seen, Thor's god-blast can break Uru.
