Thor has memorable villains?

I think the answer to this one is obvious.

Superman has lex, braniac, Zod, metallo and parasite. Thor has Loki, Gorr.......

Thor. I'd say his villains were more varied.

I like some of both characters villains. I would say Superman's villains are more iconic, only Loki for Thor stands out in a similar way to Lex Luthor, Bizarro, Brainiac, Doomsday or Zod. My personal favs not including those already mentioned, would be Livewire, Cyborg Superman, Mr. Mxyzptlk. Lots of Thor villains have been diluted and suffered over time by various writers (same could be said of some of Superman's villains too) but also with some of Thor's enemies, their lack of popularity has actually helped keep them somewhat credible. Kurse and Mangog are sort of like Thor's version of Doomsday but they don't have a bunch of random versions out there.

So lots of Thor's villains are jobbers now, Absorbing Man, Wrecking Crew, Ulik, Radioactive Man. That being said he also has aforementioned Mangog, Kurse as well as Ymir, Surtur, Hela, Karnilla, Enchantress, Destroyer Armor, Desak, Fenris, Malekith. Also like Superman and evil Kryptonians and various evil characters from other alien races, Thor has a number of random enemies from other pantheons. I think both characters have good villains, personally more of my favorites come from Thor's side probably because Thor has a number of warrior friends as supporting characters, many of Superman's villains traditionally depend on him more, play off his characterization and attributes more. A reflection of him or sorts. Which is great as far as Superman's stories, but makes it hard for me to see the villains as their own separate entities - Lex Luthor, Loki, Enchantress, Destroyer, Hela, Karnilla, Absorbing Man etc for me can be great independent of Thor and Supes.

I think Thor has a more versatile, intelligent Rogues gallery. Superman's are just more well known, I mean he is the Grandaddy of super heroes..

Malekith - (watch the world burn )
Surtur - ( exercise the wrath is he consumed with )
Gorr ( free man from his perception of bondage by gods)
Loki ( jealous, God of mischievous, esteem)
Destroyer ( read the name)
Celestials ( space tyrant gods)
Enchantress ( she's weird )
Kurse (revenge on Thor for his condition )

All different villians, all very different motives. All very different ways of accomplishing what they want. And NO VILLIAN superman has ever has experienced this Loki phenomenon.

Superman's for me. Though to be fair, I haven't read much of Thor. I mean I know his villains sure, but I hardly care about any of them, and I have zero love for Loki. Superman gets the vote on Luthor alone, in truth. Oh and Darkseid (and don't give me that JL nonsense).

Thor! He has worlds of great enemies! Frost giants alone are great to battle against. Superman fights the toyman.... Giant toys?!? Lame. I love superman but Thor takes it in the villains department. Hell, the new Thor movie has different villains while movie super is stuck fighting zod and luthor for the past 30 plus years.

Superman has both superior and inferior villains compared to Thor's.

Superman's villains are firstly more iconic and secondly more memorable.I think that if you ask a random person that doesn't know about comic books so much he can name at least two or three Superman villains while if you ask him about Thor's villains he would be able to name only Loki.And also in my opinion Superman's rogues gallery is far better and interesting.

I like Loki and Surtur, Mangog is also cool but Superman has Luthor,Brainiac,Cyborg Superman,Mongul,Zod(Faora/Ursa,Non,Jax-ur,various other Phantom Zone criminals). Among lesser knowns we have Parasite,Metallo,Bizarro,Solaris,Vyndktvx,Mandrakk etc so it's not just Thor that has varied villains.

Honestly, the only memorable Thor villain is Loki. While Superman has Lex Luthor, General Zod, Brainiac, Parasite, Mettallo, Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, Mongul, and many more.

THORs villains seem a lot powerful while as powerful as superman is, superman only gets villains with no to little powers. he can't even take batman (which he should with ease, because i hate batman.)

Both of their rogues galleries are unique and interesting, but when Thor's rogues gallery is written properly, they are far more threatening and compelling, IMO. Many of Thor's villains can seriously harm him both physically and psychologically. I'm not sure it's the same for Superman.
