What about a vigilante THOR? kind of like a daredevil, spider-man, punisher, ghost rider, blade type dark hero.

Not saying to have the original THOR become it but make another street level version of THOR. (not thunder-strike).

Have darker, masked THOR (doesn't have to be called THOR), he can still have a weapon similar to hammer, but his power and strength are a bit more decreased. he'd have some of THORs powers with a lot of limits with less power and more physical fighting style.

By still keeping some norse mythology and original THOR stories in tack.

he'd be mentored by THOR but not at a face to face mentor. or it can be like in the future where donald blake retires and wants to settle on earth with jane or who ever (kind of like a batman beyond.)

It would consist of all new characters and villains. so you wouldn't see those as powerful as LOKI as a villain.

what do you think? its okay to disagree we all are entitled to our own opinions.

That sounds like a pitch by Bendis for the real Thor.

Nah, as it it marvel basis the Asgardians on the mythology while at the same time decreasing their power and worth to fit into marvel universe(As an example, Odin effectively created the universe and everything in it(including humans)). In the marvel world that just gets downplayed to Odin creating a "pocket universe" for Asgard and all the realms except earth in it. With that, Odin and Thor(among others) are not in the same power category as they should be in mythology.

Why play them down even further to mere street level blokes?

I'd much rather see and enjoy Thor in a more powerful universal run, it doesn't even have to be canon. Show us what he's really about. The greatest we came to that was RKT and they put an end to it before he even got the opportunity to fully show his potential, probably because they COULD NOT write in a character as powerful as RKT in the normal continuity.

I'm tired of this earth bound nonsense where he gets to beat the hulk so that he looks like a retard and then suddenly hulk manages to grab his hammer and beat him a few times with it, puts him down and then jumps away. Give it a rest already...

Yeah, he's far too attached to Earth. There are nine other realms he could go play in. Thankfully, Aaron's Thor has mainly focused on Thor traversing through time and across the universe. His pit-stop back to Earth is a standalone issue, and then it's off to the Nine Realms in search of Malekith. Aaron definitely "gets" Thor.

My proposal for Marvel editorial would be for a small "event" where Thor became fed up with Earth (and with the Avengers) for a while, which would result in Thor transporting Asgard back to Asgardian space. Part of the problem for Asgardians is that they're home is hovering in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma. Definitely downplays the allure of their godliness.
